How is wastewater treated?

Wastewater goes through a great deal of cleaning to be able to be used again. First the water is brought into a plant, then it goes through a rigorous system of cleansing. This type of cleansing insures that we are able to use the water again. This water will take many weeks to be able to get to the point where it is able to circulate back again into usable water sources. It will be a great deal of time until this water actually makes it back into homes as well. A large amount of chemicals, like chlorine, must be used to sanitize the water as well. This water must be 100 percent clean before it enters the home again.
